Los Angeles, CA – August 22, 2025 – Jack’s Mannequin, the acclaimed alternative pop rock group led by veteran indie-pop singer-songwriter-pianist Andrew McMahon, surprised fans today with the release of Everything In Transit: Strings Attached EP to officially celebrate their 20th anniversary. The special collection features brand-new acoustic versions of five songs off the band’s Gold-certified debut album, Everything In Transit, originally released August 23, 2005. Produced by Suzy Shinn (Weezer, Fall Out Boy) and recorded at Treehouse Studios in Los Angeles, Everything In Transit: Strings Attached EP strips down Jack’s Mannequin’s Gold-certified hit single “Dark Blue” and fan favorites “Holiday From Real,” “I’m Ready,” “Bruised” and “The Mixed Tape” set against string arrangements courtesy of LA-based artist Allie Stamler. Transit was more than a record to me. It was a window into one of the most chaotic, heartbreaking, and beautiful times in my life,” shares McMahon. “I had so much to lose and somehow, I was more fearless than I’d ever been or will ever be. Twenty years later, I still love these songs as much as I did when they came to life in the speakers for the very first time.”

Of the new Everything In Transit: Strings Attached EP, he adds, “We had no idea what we were trying to make when we decided to cut this record. It was very similar to Transit in that sense. I showed up with the songs and we just started experimenting. Halfway through the first day, the piano strings were covered in mounting putty and I remember thinking two things: this is so much fun and what the hell have I gotten myself into? The revelation came when Suzy Shinn, my longtime friend and producer, invited Allie Stamler over at the end of the first session. Allie is a brilliant violinist and the two of us just hung out in Suzy’s living room with a mic and arranged string parts in real time. It was so clear that we had found an angle on these songs that felt fresh and we basically told Allie she was stuck with us for the next couple weeks. It was such a free and creative process and it made reworking the songs feel like a worthwhile endeavor rather than some box to check for an album anniversary.”

In addition to marking 20 years of Jack’s Mannequin, tomorrow’s date represents a bigger, more personal milestone for McMahon. At the age of 22, he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) and admitted to the hospital on the same day the recording of Everything In Transit finished. A few months later, on the album’s release day (August 23, 2005), McMahon received a stem cell transplant from his sister, ultimately saving his life. After making a full recovery, Andrew founded the Dear Jack Foundation in 2006, a nonprofit providing impactful programming that directly benefits adolescents and young adults diagnosed with cancer in order to improve quality of life and create positive health outcomes from treatment to survivorship for patients and their families.

Jack’s Mannequin McMahon (vocals, piano), Bobby “Raw” Anderson (guitar), Jay McMillan (drums) and Mikey Wagner (bass, keys) – reunited earlier this year to kickstart their 20th anniversary celebrations with The MFEO Tour. The first leg of the 30-date North American outing sold-out nightly throughout June, receiving high acclaim from both fans and media, even hailed as “the show of the summer.Following a performance at Maryland’s Oceans Calling festival in September, The MFEO Tour will resume October 11th at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. Jack’s Mannequin will then make their debut at When We Were Young and continue their headlining run this fall from October 31st through November 23rd stopping in St. Petersburg, Orlando, Atlanta, Columbus, Cleveland, Detroit (for the 16th Annual Dear Jack Benefit), Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Anaheim, and Del Mar, California. Supporting Jack’s Mannequin in the fall are Mondo Cozmo, hellogoodbye, and illuminati hotties on select dates each. Before resuming the second leg of the tour,

Jack’s Mannequin heads overseas in September for headlining shows in Japan and a run of dates with Mayday Parade in Australia. See below for full list of upcoming tour dates. Most dates of The MFEO Tour’s upcoming leg are already sold out or with low ticket supply. Visit https://andrewmcmahon.com/pages/tour-dates for more information and to purchase tickets while they’re still available. $1 per ticket for The MFEO Tour will be donated to the Dear Jack Foundation.   Jack’s Mannequin launched in 2005 as McMahon’s more personal solo project following the success of his pop-punk band Something Corporate in the early 2000s. During its tenure, the esteemed quartet released a total of three acclaimed studio albums, with both their sophomore LP The Glass Passenger (2008) and third and final album People and Things (2011) entering the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. Jack’s Mannequin also performed multiple times on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, received major media support, and were featured in the hit TV series One Tree Hill. Though Jack’s Mannequin officially went on hiatus in 2012, leading to McMahon launching his current moniker Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness in 2014, the highly adored SoCal band has reunited on a handful of special occasions over the years.

In other recent news, on July 23rd, Andrew McMahon headlined the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre for the sold-out Three Pianos concert, where he performed with all three of his bands (Jack’s Mannequin, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Something Corporate) in one night for the first time ever. The special career-spanning evening, which saw McMahon performing on all three of his beloved pianos representing each of his musical chapters, made Red Rocks history with McMahon becoming the first artist to star as opening act, direct support, and headliner all in one night.
