- Tell our Rock Fans about the band’s latest release? Where did the band record with and who?
Our latest release is actually also our first release of our discography. The song is the first one that we wrote together and it was the song that moved us to form the band. We recorded a ton on our phones to hear it but we really wanted the studio clarity so we recorded at Markee Music in Deerfield Beach with the legendary Dani Sinatra as our sound engineer where we recorded two tracks, with the second to be released sometime in the near future.
- How long was the writing process and what inspired you on this new release?
The writing process took about a month, only because the band meets every Sunday to rehearse due to conflicting schedules for every other day. But for the release itself, we’re all very inspired by great metal acts of the past such as Pantera, Metallica, Exodus, Death, etc. and even rising bands of today like Chained Saint who are proof that we can make it to large stages.
- What changed during this process from previous releases?
Well this was our first release, so that process was a very big learning experience during the mixing stage, but it will definitely help us with the next track that is currently in its mixing stage.
- What’s next for the band? Any Tours or festivals Lined up?
Currently we are finishing the mixing and mastering process for our second track, and we are actively looking for shows to play, which is our biggest priority this year.
- Describe your live show to a fan that has not seen you perform before?
We played a show in Miami at the FIU Skatebird in October of last year, and the energy that we gave off to the audience caused an immediate mosh pit which surprised the band in the best possible ways and it also showed that no matter how big or small the venue is, the metal will prevail.
- What is your favorite song to play live? Always a tough question to answer.
We have 12 songs written, but the last show we played some weren’t finished at the time, but from the songs that we have played live, the song Vampire’s Lair is by far the most fun to play.
- If you could collaborate on a song or tour, what band would you choose and why?
Definitely Chained Saint. Those guys went to the same high school with us and they enjoyed the old cover band that existed before it evolved into Vypus. Also, their success is very inspiring, and that motivates us to try to be the best that we can be as musicians and as a band unit.
- What drives you as a musician? Being creative is definitely number one.
Yes creativity brings about a really exciting energy to all of us during the writing process, but as a musician, I can speak on behalf of the band that trying to play music that challenges us is a main driving force. Not to play hard music for the sake of it being hard, but it helps us discover new sounds and bring about more ideas with more “musical vocabulary.” With what we know now, we like the idea of making someone’s day better when they listen to our music.
- What band member gets the most *Attention* from the fans?
It is undoubtedly Jose Nunez, our lead guitarist, he has a crazy special stage presence, and he looks like someone pulled him out of the 80’s.
- Who is the laziest band member when it comes to load in and load out each night?
Our lead guitarist Jose is also well suited for this category. He is “too busy” with the fans after the show.
- What is the single greatest musical memory so far while being in the band?
Performing in Miami at the FIU Skatebird halloween themed show. That was our debut show and the energy was unforgettable when the metal passed through the audience and us.
- If the band were thrown into a wrestling battle royal, which member would win? Who would be the first to be thrown over the ropes?
Josiah can deadlift 405lbs, can benchpress 250lbs, squat 315lbs all for reps, whilst weighing 155lbs I think he will most definitely win by throwing over John after Jose jumped himself over the ropes, saving Aidan for last.
- What can fans expect next from the band?
Another song coming out hopefully this mid to late spring, we call it BATMAN, which everyone in the band has very high hopes for in terms of how our audience will receive it. Also, we hope to be a bit of fresh air to our fans considering we are coming from a very Metalcore, Hardcore, and Deathcore dominated metal scene here in Southeast Florida.
Thank you for the opportunity for this interview, we really enjoyed these questions!
