OG8 RELEASES SECOND SINGLE “CHANGE”

LAS VEGAS: The transformation of leaving a relationship, starting a new one or even uprooting a career can be a daunting task. In the new single, “Change” from OG8, the spellbinding chorus of “Sail away, sail away” catapults the listener into a wall of melodic rock and poised  freedom. It’s just the next chapter for OG8, after their initial release “W.O.M.A.N”, and the common thread is definitively self-empowerment. Vocalist Jaime Lynch had listeners feeling embolden in “W.O.M.A.N” and in “Change” Lynch evokes assurance in going with the flow.

In the vein of Led Zeppelin or Heart, “Change” starts with a stirring guitar bed, only to erupt into a fiery anthem. Lynch’s vocals hover over guitarist Troy Williver’s rhythmic riff. “Change”, perhaps more so than “W.O.M.A.N” delivers OG8’s oh-so-subtle chip on its shoulder type of band. It also touches on the theme of having someone in your corner, even if it’s a little voice that gets louder.
“It takes more than talent in the music business,” Lynch said. “I’m lucky to have a supportive family and supportive friends. My own personal journey has always been one of controlled in what I had to do, how I had to look. I played a role on someone else’s creativity. ‘Change’ reflects that OG8 is going to do things our way.”
OG8 – is a collective force of award-winning and seasoned musicians focused on a shared ideological belief system of love of music over pursuit of ego. Based in Portland, Ore., the driving force behind OG8 is founder and guitarist Troy Williver. Bent on being a band that doesn’t rely on a record label for both success and acknowledgment, in early 2023 Williver established Beat Farm Music. From there, the OG8 band took hold. Williver’s search for a vocalist that matched the values and could both command the stage and captivate the audience in a way that accentuates OG8’s eclectic rock-Americana-blues sound led him to the powerful vocalist and frontwoman, Jaime Lynch. A multiple winner of “Best of Las Vegas”, Lynch was the final element that ignited the undeniable chemistry. Drummer Michael Thomas Underwood III, Renato Caranto on saxophone, George Mitchell on keyboard, bassist Phil Baker and sound engineer Drew Canulette round out the band.
